Hello, community!

I'm looking for feedback for https://beta.certdog.com !

It's a service that let you track and monitor all your SSL Certificates for expiration, and when they're about to expire CertDog bot will start messaging you on different platforms(like Slack, Telegram or SMS if you like.) to make sure you update it before it's too late!

Thank you!

Also, part of the problem here is discoverability and marketing for niche services.

You might be able to partner with someone like Pagerduty but honestly I'm worried that this is a feature, not a product and that they could just ship this themselves.

    It's a great idea though.

Thank you for your feedback. For sure, it's not so hard for services like that to implement such a service but for some reason they didn't do anything like this. yet.

If you were to add DNS expiration too I think you could really nail it...

This is definitely bitten me before and would pay for a service that alerted me.

What I'd REALLY pay for is an actual human to track me down if this becomes an issue. Sometimes delivering the message becomes a problem... maybe have some sort of pre-paid fee (like $20) which is used if it ever becomes an issue.

The reason I'd like to pre-pay for something like this is that often PART of the problem is CC expiration - which might be the reason the domain expired.

Well, it's actually a chatbot that is going to hunt you down on Slack, Telegram and even SMS. It will make your life miserable if you don'y update the cert. By the way DNS could be a nice add.

It definitely gets the idea across. Sounds really useful.

I think you could tighten the verbiage up a little though. The only thing that's missing is a clever dog-based logo.

Hey, Davide. As far as the business concept, I like it. I've been in many situations where a cert tracker would have been handy to have, both on my own and at various agencies. Here's my quick-take on the design:

    1. Tighten the leading on your hero h1 to something like line-height:120%;
    2. Simplify the hero message. Currently it splits into two sentences on four lines, so this would make your messaging easier to scan and look better design-wise.
    3. Reduce the size of your icons, tighten the spacing between the icon and h2 as well as the spacing between the h2 and content.
    4. Consider adding a tad bit more content to the first selling point to balance them visually.
    5. It feels kinda strange to show pricing and then offer early access to the product — it’s not clear if I’m paying for this product or requesting early access.
    6. Improve the spacing/balance on the bottom section — there’s a lot more space above the messaging compared to below the button.
    7. Fix the typo on the bottom section -- "Don't broke stuff".
    8. The design overall could benefit from some subtle patterns.

    Have a good one!
