Very interesting product and good looking landing page but the product is maybe too minimal. Instead of three screenshots below the fold you could add two photographs of actual print-outs hanging at home or some very interesting place.
How minimal do you want the product to be in the future? It lacks customization and I think as a creator of a map (even if it is just cropping and printing it) I'd like to do some sort of customization like a "you're here" marker or points of interest for me.
Hi @TomK32, thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it! That's a good point about having actual final products on the landing page, I'll have to look into making that happen.
I definitely intend to have more customization possibilities! The thing is, I wanted to nail down the core functionality before building lots of different options for that.
I agree with that, but you'll need something to stand out.
How about an option to have more than one selection and with figures like hexagons? A photo with those hanging on a black wall might go wild on instagram.

Valid question :) I'd say it's for "broke" college students (i.e. young people with tight budgets, such as myself) who want to decorate their apartment in this minimalistic style. My primary channel for reaching this audience is Instagram.

BUT, existing products such as https://customaps.com/ cost $50+, and I wasn't ready to pay that kind of money on this (as I'm a student living on a budget).
So, with Minimal Maps you can generate an image file, that's really high resolution (approx. 2400 px * 3200px @230dpi), which you can then take to your local print shop and get a poster size printout.
SO to answer your questions:
If you take a screenshot from google maps, the resolution isn't going to be nearly high enough to allow you to make a good looking poster.
Target audience would be (primarily) 20-something people on a budget, who want a cool decorative piece affordably. So it's not for finding your way around a city :)
That's a good point. It's designed for (large) city areas with roads, highways, railroads or coastlines, that define the area. Also, at it's current stage it works properly only on certain zoom levels. So if you zoom out far enough, the roads etc will disappear.
