Dapr - APIs for building portable and reliable microservices

Dapr is a cutting-edge project that is revolutionizing the way microservices connect. Our Distributed Application Runtime (Dapr) offers a suite of APIs for core building blocks such as service to service invocation, pub/sub messaging, secret management, distributed lock management, configuration management, and bindings for common components like Twitter and HTTP. Dapr eliminates the pain points and challenges associated with microservice connectivity such as encryption and observability, allowing developers to focus on business logic and keep their code simple.

The idea for Dapr originated at Microsoft, where the company was searching for a solution to the challenges faced in large distributed systems across different teams. The goal was to find a more efficient way to connect microservices, as traditional methods can be complex and time-consuming, while also ensuring the solution was open-source to prevent lock-in and focused on an excellent developer experience.

To facilitate adoption of Dapr, SDKs have been created in various common languages such as Javascript, Go, C#, Java, Rust, and Python. These SDKs empower developers to create applications quickly, with a focus on developer experience.

I am sharing the Dapr project to invite other entrepreneurs to try it out and see how it can assist in building their projects. Dapr can help everyone to focus on business value, while we, the Dapr team, focus on resolving technical challenges. I hope that by sharing the Dapr project, it will also encourage others to contribute to it and contribute to the goal of making the world a better place through sharing common building blocks with everyone.
