Data/Info on Beta Page to Product

Has anyone come across any good books, posts, or articles on the process of going from beta/landing page to product? I've always had some sort of MVP before talking to people but I hear stories of people creating a landing page to gauge interest then creating the product. I'd love to hear more about lessons learned, communication strategies, etc.

I figure landing page then product might be a good way to work on an idea since I have limited time and am already working on a startup.

Thanks!

I don't have resources for this, but yes you can do this and it can save you some time.

What you can do is: create a landing page of your product (without actually building the product), and even create some mockups or screenshots of what your product will look like (or what you think it will look like).

This way you can begin to talk and promote your landing page and see if people are interested. If it's a catch, you can build the product!

For this, I would recommend building the product really fast, because if people sign up and have to wait 2 months for your product, it can be disappointing for them.

Thanks, the frustration waiting for the product is exactly the concern I have. I'll keep doing research and post anything good here. I'm hoping to find verbiage around "it's not a product yet". This also implies a bunch of planning to be very clear on what the MVP is.
