Day 1 of launching Stripe Alerts — honest numbers
from a solo dev with zero audience.
✅ 10 installs
✅ 200+ TikTok views
✅ Posted on 10+ platforms
✅ Started with 11 X followers
What worked:
→ Real demo video converted better than cinematic ad
→ Honest Reddit comments drove more traffic than
launch posts
What didn't work:
→ Most subreddits removed promotional posts instantly
→ TikTok links don't convert without 1000 followers
Day 2 starts tomorrow. Building completely in public.
Strong Day 1, especially with zero audience.
The thing I’d be careful with is treating this as a distribution-platform problem too early.
For Stripe Alerts, the sharper question is probably: what payment failure does a founder fear enough to install this today?
Failed payments, missed disputes, subscription cancellations, payout issues, and webhook problems are very different pains. If the messaging stays broad as “Stripe alerts,” you may get curiosity but not urgency.
I’d use these first installs to find the one alert people actually care about enough to keep enabled.
Happy to put a tighter first-user/launch angle in writing if useful. This feels like the kind of product where one painful Stripe event should carry the whole early message.
