Day 10 - Another 'boring' day

Yesterday I spent most of the day testing and tweaking prompts but this time it was at scale. I had already created some scripts to turn wellness goals into storylines and then flashcards. I had previously tested my prompts but now that I could do this at scale, I could test more scenarios.

A bit about my app - a part of my pitch is the idea that 'my app is all you need' but in the process of creating storylines for the different goals, I found many gaps in what my app does not offer. This was some nice insight for future features!

And while working on a wellness goal I really vibed with the output. I don't think any fitness or nutrition apps at the moment are truly considering mindfulness. But look at the output for one of the mindfulness goal storylines I was testing - the goal is about staying mentally and socially engaged:

Key Activities:

  • Organize regular game nights or discussion groups with friends or community members.
  • Start a blog or podcast to share insights and experiences, fostering a sense of community.
  • Enroll in a class (e.g., language, art, or music) that encourages collaboration with peers.
  • Explore local clubs or organizations that align with personal interests for ongoing engagement.
  • Lead a community project or initiative that promotes mental wellness and social engagement.
  • Teach a skill or hobby to others, fostering connections and sharing knowledge.
  • Start or facilitate a community group focused on a specific interest or cause.
  • Regularly attend workshops or seminars on mental wellness and share insights with peers.

You think this has nothing to do with fitness or nutrition but it does! Being socially content and engaged helps one be better in other aspects of their lives - especially fitness and nutrition!

Hiring contractors -a side note

You know I have been complaining about being a solo founder. So I had been entertaining the idea of hiring a contractor to help me with some features. This person had reached out to me and we had discussed some projects. I was really pushing for project A but gave them an overview of project B & C with the idea that we could work on them once project A was done. And I got quoted for project B at an absurd rate - 170 hours. Are you kidding me? I could knock project B out in 8 hours.

This person really put me off with that quote. I did not get back to them for a few weeks until yesterday and made it clear - we are doing project A - projects B & C have been de-prioritized. No response. Lets see how this goes...

P.S. I paused my working session to get some Tsukemen at Uchoku. I am doing a little ramen rating journal and it blew me away!
