Day 12 with Clowd — the audience segment I didn't build for but probably should have.

Restaurant and hospitality businesses.

Here's why they're a surprisingly strong fit:

  1. The pain is immediate and visible. A broken QR code on a restaurant table isn't a background frustration — it's a live bad experience happening in front of customers right now. That urgency makes them highly motivated to fix it.

  2. The update cycle is constant. Menus change seasonally, weekly, sometimes daily. Hotel amenities shift. Event details evolve. The "upload once, update forever" primitive is exactly what they need — they just didn't know a tool for it existed.

  3. The QR code framing clicks instantly. I don't have to explain "permanent links" to a restaurant owner. I say "print your QR code once and update the menu whenever you want without reprinting." They get it in 5 seconds.

  4. They're underserved by existing tools. Drive links break when files move. WeTransfer expires. Dedicated QR code tools are expensive and complex. There's a genuine gap.

What I'm experimenting with: reaching this audience via LinkedIn (hospitality professionals are active there), local business communities, and restaurant industry forums rather than the usual indie/dev channels.

Early signal is strong. The hospitality segment may end up being one of Clowd's most reliable growth channels — even though it was never in the plan.

Curious if others have found unexpected B2SMB audiences that outperformed their intended B2B or developer-focused segments.
