Day 14 of building Stoopwriter: 19 cold emails sent, 0 replies. What I'm doing about it.

Two weeks ago I started Stoopwriter, an AI content tool narrowly aimed at one buyer: solo Vancouver real estate agents. The pitch is "blog posts, Google Business Profile updates, and service pages tuned to outrank Zillow on local search."

Pricing: $39/mo for the first 20 founders, locked for life. $79/mo after that.

Where I am 14 days in:

Built and shipped:

  • Full product (Next.js + Anthropic API + Stripe + Upstash Redis)
  • 6 long-form blog posts targeting buyer-intent keywords
  • 16 programmatic SEO pages (one per Vancouver neighborhood)
  • LLM eval harness scoring outputs against a 5-dimension rubric
  • Lifecycle email sequence (welcome, 3-day check-in, 14-day check-in)
  • Live "19 of 20 founding spots remaining" counter

Outreach so far:

  • 19 cold emails to named Vancouver agents, sent from [email protected]
  • 0 replies in the first 24-48h window
  • Reddit launch drafted but not posted yet (waiting on r/RealEstateCanada karma to age)

What I think is wrong:

Real estate agents don't read cold email. They read texts and DMs. My channel is mismatched to my buyer. The product is fine. The distribution is wrong.

What I'm changing this week:

  1. Posting to Reddit (r/RealEstateCanada, r/Vancouver, r/SideProject)
  2. Indie Hackers launch (this post)
  3. Adding 5 more programmatic neighborhood pages tonight to compound SEO surface
  4. Following up with batch-1 prospects on Saturday morning (the 72h window)
  5. Considering switching from cold email to LinkedIn or Instagram DMs even though I personally don't use either

What I want feedback on:

If you've launched a vertical SaaS to a non-tech buyer (real estate, dental, legal, contractors), did cold email ever work for you? Or did you have to meet them on the channel they actually live on?

Also: founder-led content vs paid ads vs cold outreach for the first 20 customers in a vertical that doesn't read your channels. What worked?

Site is at stoopwriter.com if you want to see what I built. Roast it.
