It's the last day of #30daysofgrowth - how did it go?
What did your growth look like?
Did you achieve what you wanted?
Do you have stats to share?
What worked well with the challenge? What didn't?
If we started a group (which we will shortly), what kind of things should we focus on?
Day 30 / 30 : www.powai.xyz #30daysofgrowth wrap up
๐ 51 / 100
I did not quite achieve my target of 100 subs. That's due to my laziness.
With this stand-up thing I did feel compelled to push my limits and reached out to people in ways I would not have normally.
The feeling that other makers are also marching along felt good. That brought a kind of accountability to this. Also, daily reporting was a push. Would do this again.

I joined in later but I realized how important it is to have a trending post somewhere. A post on HackerNews etc would bring in some users and as soon as the post disappears the users are gone as well.
Then I tried something else, targeting potential customers with cold emails. The conversion rate is low but two or three customers found my services interesting ๐ The experiment is still running :)
I tried giving the users something for free (a spreadsheet with places to post your startup) in the hope that they visit my website and make an order. Didn't work and I gave away something for free ๐
Growing alchemist.camp (which I hope @csallen will one day make an auto-link like other URLs!)
Throughout this month, I took on a goal of increasing top of funnel growth, particularly site traffic. The reason for this is that while people have been willing to pay for access to my premium screencasts, the growth has been very slow.
The main thing I've done towards this end is create much more written content on the site. Written content is easier to create, easier to share and, in theory, more appealing for search engines to index.
My results as of day #30, are below (day #1 stats here)
The good: My main goal was site traffic, and it increased far more rapidly than since the very, very early days of the channel. Twitter subscriber growth is also nearly double what it is in a typical month. It wasn't a metric I was specifically tracking, but my site traffic from google increased by 41% for the month, which is great.
The bad: Revenue went down. It was only a slight drop, but it's still very annoying. I also spent a lot of time on growth activities. Worse still, that work wasn't really providing value to my paid subscribers. I strongly suspect that if I'd simply produced a couple more subscriber screencasts, revenue would have gone up instead of staying flat.
โ๏ธ I'll definitely produce more articles in the future, but I'm not sure how much effort I'll put into it versus other things I can do like creating premium tutorials and/or a 2nd product.

๐ I broke my goal of 100 user accounts! I started at 68 at the beginning of the month, and now we have 108 user accounts! I managed to find 40 new users in this last month.
๐ I nearly got the website back to initial launch traffic! https://www.indiehackers.com/product/danger-world/traffic
This whole thing was an excellent opportunity to focus on growth. I appreciated that I could give my small incremental updates while not feeling like I'm just self-promoting with spam. It was also good to see what other people were doing for inspiration.
This growth is going to be critical when multiplayer launches to see if people will play the game with their friends. Another benefit to this challenge is that it has me properly thinking about how my message is going to reach the ears of my potential customers.
