Day 4: $57 → 14 sales, 105 subscribers, 34 guide downloads — what's actually converting

Quick update from my last post ("$57 in 2 days selling Claude prompt codes").

The numbers (Day 4):

14 cheat sheet sales
105 newsletter subscribers
34 free guide downloads (today alone: 21)
$0/month operating cost (Vercel free, Upstash free, Zoho free)
Total revenue: ~$80
What I changed based on your feedback:

Someone in the comments asked "what's your plan for the subscribers?" That made me realize I was collecting emails and doing nothing with them. So I built:

A free 40-page guide as the lead magnet (was $19 — making it free 3x'd downloads overnight)
The guide only includes 20 of the 120 prompt codes. Enough to be useful. Not enough to feel complete.
After downloading, you land on a one-time offer page with a countdown timer
A 4-email automated drip sequence (Day 0/3/7/14)
The PDF itself has "Want all 120 codes? From $5" appearing 4 times at natural reading breaks
What's actually converting:

PayPal (international) > Razorpay (India). Most paying customers are US/UK. Reddit drives traffic but not sales — the people who engage most and the people who pay are completely different groups (h/t AmandaBrown from this community for that insight).

The 105 subscribers are the real asset. 14 of them converted to paid. That's ~13% subscriber-to-buyer. Not amazing, but for a solo founder in week 1 with no ad spend, I'll take it.

What's not working:

Zero sales today despite 21 guide downloads. The new funnel (reduced guide + upsell page + pricing CTAs) only went live 2 hours ago, so the jury's still out. If tomorrow is also zero, the problem is either the price point ($5-$15) or the gap between "free guide reader" and "paid cheat sheet buyer."

Honest question for the community:

For a digital product like this (prompt codes with tested before/after examples), would you price it at $5 to maximize volume or $15-29 to signal quality? Currently testing $15 for Pro tier.
