Day 4 of building Conviction in public. SEO, content, and the first blog post

Big day of execution. Less building, more distribution infrastructure.

The main focus was getting the site properly readable by Google. Added full meta tags, Open Graph tags, Twitter card tags, and three schema types, SoftwareApplication so Google knows this is a finance tool, FAQ schema pulling directly from the FAQ section on the landing page so those questions can appear as expandable results in search, and HowTo schema mapping the three-step onboarding flow. Also created a sitemap.xml and robots.txt so Google knows exactly what to crawl and how often.

Then I ran four checks to confirm everything was working. Page source shows real HTML text. Google Search Console screenshot shows the page content. Meta tags preview correctly on metatags.io. Rich results test passed with no schema errors. All green.

Published the first blog post. Targets "how to decide which crypto to sell", a long-tail keyword with almost zero competition and exactly the right intent. Someone searching that phrase has the precise problem Conviction solves. 1,580 words covering the five-criteria framework in full, a worked scoring example on ARB with scores across all five criteria and a composite result of 64 out of 100, and a CTA to the tool at the end. The page has its own meta tags, Article schema, and canonical URL, fully optimised as a standalone SEO asset from day one.

The strategic insight that clicked today: the blog is a completely different SEO battleground to the homepage. The homepage is competing with CoinStats, Koinly, and CoinMarketCap, domain ratings of 80 to 94, millions of users, years of backlinks. Not a fight worth having yet. But none of those competitors write content about decision frameworks. None of them have a blog post answering "how to decide which crypto to sell." The gap exists in search results just as clearly as it exists in the product. One well-ranked post on a zero-competition keyword will bring in more qualified users per month than any amount of homepage optimisation against those giants.

Also submitted Conviction to There's An AI For That, a tool directory with DR71 that gets genuine traffic from people searching for AI tools to help with investing. Free submission, approved within 48 hours. First backlink in the pipeline. AlternativeTo is queued for next week.

Next up is blog post 2 targeting "crypto conviction scoring framework," a Reddit thread in r/algotrading sharing the framework as a genuine discussion post, and the AlternativeTo listing once the account clears the waiting period. The content compounds. Each post lifts the domain authority slightly, which lifts the ranking of every post before it.

One post per week, zero-competition keywords, real framework content nobody else is writing. That's the SEO plan.
