[day 45] 4 ideas in parallel?
sunday was a slow day. didn't do a lot, but planning to record a demo for reverscan soon for the new screenshot export feature.
also, doing something new for my next product.
i have a roughly 4 ideas that i am trying to work on together.
a) a screen replacement tool that fixes screens in ai generated videos
b) a full video ai creation workflow (there's a lot of competition, but that could be a good thing)
c) a way to visualise code (something in the realm of codesee)
d) a vertical ai play, probably for wedding planners
i am having a hard time selecting, so i am sort of developing each of these ideas, till something really grips me, or i feel something has more liftoff than the others.
or i'll eventually do all of these? who know. but taking it one at a time right now.
honestly skip the 'which idea' question and just chase whichever one gets you to a real convo fastest, like franio said. concrete version, set up a few f5bot alerts on the exact pain keywords across reddit, reply helpfully when they fire and the convos come to you. commenting beats posting hard at day 45, nobody's hunting for your posts yet idk
commenting has been something that's been on my mind for a long time. it's just the pain of actually getting it done. i need to crave out time to do this.
the bit that unlocked this for me was going where people already complain instead of announcing anything. i'd search reddit/twitter for the literal phrase someone uses when they have the problem, then dm 'how are you dealing with X right now' with zero pitch. the convo itself is the win, the signup comes later if at all. 4 ideas is a lot to do that for though, i'd just keep whichever you can find complainers for fastest idk
that's pretty actionable feedback esp with the dm. i've narrowed it down to 2 ideas ironically neither of which were on the list above. on the contrary i've been working on a fitness app. i know there's a tonne of these around these days, but just felt very drawn to it.
the trick is finding the one that lands you in conversation with a real user fastest. with online tribes we found that was the actual activation event. anything earlier is exploration.
how do you usually go about doing it? how do you approach landing a conversation with a real user? by posting on sub-reddits and getting engagement? or commenting? or looking for keywords across social media?
