I've taken a break today, back in full swing tomorrow!
This month I'm working on growing Indie Hackers' milestones feature.
✅ YESTERDAY I invited several people who've posted top milestones onto the IH podcast for quick 15-20 minute chats.
🏆 RESULTS were that almost everyone said yes, and I've got some episodes scheduled to record next week! Ideally this will result in some growth down the line, but it'll take a while to record + edit + publish the episodes. This is more of a long-term growth initiative than a short-term one. I don't know if it'll really start moving the needle until several months of podcast episodes. But it's good to get the ball rolling ASAP.
👷♀️ TODAY I'm going to reach out to some influencers I know and try to convince them to start posting milestones. I'm also sending out the first weekly version of the "top milestones" email.
✅ Worked on the podcast, I am about to start.

🏆 Started to prepare the newsletter that goes out Tuesday. I love preparing those more and more. It also takes more time, but the fact that I have 500 subscribers and also get feedback back is really motivating...
✅ I recorded a screencast as planned.
✅ I didn't finish my article, so I put up another podcast and transcript in order to meet goal #1 of posting written material daily.
This one is called Scalability Arrogance and I think it will resonate well with HN, so I just submitted it there (thanks for the vote on the Cognitive Artifacts one, @rosiesherry!).
🏆 best traffic week ever by a good margin, will share stats on the 10th and 20th as planned

I use a voice recognition tool to create the transcripts. It's not perfect, but I usually only have to edit a few words per paragraph.

It's demoralizing when you send out emails and get zero response after days of waiting. It happens to me a lot 😭

Yesterday, I recorded and published a short YouTube video that shows how my product makes a certain interaction really fast for bloggers.
If you’re a blogger you get these guest post requests all the time, and Pigeon can help you automate much of the process.
I published the video to YouTube and created a blog post out of it.
Then, I shared it on Twitter and also scheduled a newsletter to my list that will share this blog post.
I may also repurpose this content into a reddit post, but I’ll save that for another day of the challenge and also add more text to the blog post.
We’ll see how this one goes, and at least I can use it for reference if I ever come across the topic again.

The tweet got 11 link clicks but somehow the YouTube video only has 2 views 🤷♂️Something maybe wrong there.
When the newsletter goes out in a couple days hopefully I'll get some more views on it.

Today, I'm going to repurpose that video into a quick text blog post (and add text to the blog post) and then try posting it to r/blogging. Good chance I get blocked for spamming but it's always worth a shot.
