Day 77: maybe procrastination is mostly resistance

For a long time, I thought procrastination was a discipline problem.

Now I’m not so sure.

The more people I talk to, the more it seems like many aren’t avoiding work because they’re lazy.

They’re avoiding resistance.

The uncertainty.

The pressure.

The fear of doing it wrong.

The feeling that the task is bigger than it actually is.

When resistance is high, even small tasks feel impossible.

When resistance is low, surprisingly large tasks become manageable.

That’s why I’m becoming increasingly interested in reducing friction instead of increasing pressure.

Maybe productivity isn’t about forcing action.

Maybe it’s about removing enough resistance that action becomes the natural next step.
