DayLate – see a progress bar of the current day on your new tab page

I am building a new tab browser extension that shows 24h x 60min progress bar of the current day and will contain a number of productivity features, like:

  • show meetings for today
  • show work hours
  • visualize visited websites through icons on tiles
  • to-dos and memos with notifications
  • some small things like colors & theme customizations

Here is the demo: https://daylatetab.com/

The main idea is to have a tab that improves productivity and motivation.
Does it make sense to build it as a browser extension or as a separate website?

I'm working on a similar extension myself. You have a great fresh idea! Good luck to you!

This is great idea for a chrome extension.

One thing to add though, you might want reduce the number of features here and instead go deep into a couple of the feature. You need a hook to get the initial download, but if you have too many features it will be difficult to get customer attention. Chrome Store also has a single purpose policy, though it a bit vague what that means.

Thanks, that's right and it is actually my plan. The reason why I listed that many features is that I want to understand what are the most attractive.
