F**k up of the week πŸ™ˆ

Last week my company Scribly.io was featured on a couple of subreddits following an interview I did, generating a ton of new traffic and leads. I was in the middle of an epic drive back from Brussels to the U.K. at the time and wasn’t really able to follow what was going on clearly (hello car sickness my old friend...). All I could see was a stream of new enquiries, like one every 5 minutes. Amazing! I think. I’ve cracked this whole acquisition thing.

Anyway, fast forward 5 days and I realise that I had screwed up something in Webflow (where my website is built) meaning that the introductory paragraph on the homepage was hidden behind another block on the page.

The introductory paragraph.

As in, literally 99% of what most people read before deciding whether to convert.

Ouch.

On the plus side, the desktop version was fine and most traffic came from desktop.

But still.

Lesson of the week: if you get unexpected coverage, MAKE SURE YOUR HOMEPAGE IS WORKING 😁😁

    Definitely had this happen before!

Also I can see why you're getting signups - great site, great copy (obviously) and solving a real need. I'll hopefully get a chance to give you guys a go over the next few weeks!

Not just that the webpage is working... but also that is working on all devices, desktop, mobile, VR, fridge, toaster, etc...

Golden advice. Obvious but too often overlooked.
