Deciding on a path

I currently work in marketing with some Product Management responsibilities.

I'm looking to break into product management further, but also would like to learn design & development.

In short, I'm not entirely sure what I want to do. So I'm taking this time to figure out what that is through side projects, whether to stay in Marketing or learn Product, Design, or Dev.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to ideate and launch to get them off the ground. Then grow and scale.

I have a few projects that can be solved with out-of-the-box software but currently too expensive for me to pay for some ideas that are just side projects.

But as a non-technical, building the product seems too complicated.

And no-code doesn't align with much other than validating and launching quickly.

So, I'm wondering how everyone would approach this. Should I use this project to learn how to code or build it no-code and push off learning to code?

Also, I guess I'm wondering if anybody had any advice or thoughts about this.

If I may be bold here... don't bother learning design & development.

I don't know how to do either, but like you, I have other non-technical skills. I started and grew my first company to 40 employees before selling. The first versions I hired an agency then had a freelance developer working on it before eventually hiring my own devs.

This time around (with my company GapScout) I'm doing the exact same process. Rinse and repeat. Hire agency, get sales, eventually build in-house team.

If you want to move fast, stick with what you're good at currently. There is more benefit in enhancing your current skill set than learning a new one.
