Demystifying Apple Receipts
If your product includes a mobile app where you are selling in-app purchases or subscriptions on Apple's App Store, then I'm sure you've encountered the pain of working with Apple's receipts that we all run into.
Just some of the issues we've run into:
- Apple's documentation is very incomplete
- The payload changes based on different conditions about the purchase
- Apple's weird not-super standard timestamps
We've spent a lot of time compiling a complete set of documentation on what is in the receipt and how to use it along with a number of Pro Tips throughout the document to give some best practices we've found over our time working with them.
Wanted to share in case anyone else is working with Apple receipt data and would find it helpful.
