Well, that is a pretty good result, congrats!
But the title is a click bite because it definitely took much more than 4 months to get this result.
To clarify, monetization was added to the app four months ago. Before that, the app was a free hobby project that I worked on sporadically.
Most users who were using the free version of the app did not convert to the paid version. Therefore, the title is accurate. To boost sales, I focused on branding, improving the app's position in app store search results, my own promotional efforts, and the development of a new set of paid features to monetize the app.
Well, to me it's not the same and I still consider the title misleading. Even if you start monetization later, you used all the experience, feedback, reviews, and whatever you had. It's like "I made millions overnight" not saying that several years of hard work preceded that night.
Every title on FounderBeats looks like this. Topic starter copy-paste it from there.
Instead of nitpicking over minor details, it's important to focus on extracting valuable insights from the author's experiences. Adopting a narrow mindset that fixates on trivialities can hinder our ability to learn from the author's perspective.
Why go in so hard on the title? It's not misleading. Talk about focusing on the wrong things !
