Recently completed deployment of a network of 10 GreeenSense ( battery-powered wireless sensor nodes with Soil moisture, Air temperature, and humidity sensors ) in a remote village of Kadapa district, AP, India.
The interesting part is that we got to test the wireless range of our sub-GHz wireless module with a 2.1 dBi Omni-directional antenna ( around 1.8 to 2.4Km in open space - a bit of hilly terrain and not exactly LOS) and around 1km in non-LOS ( with a lot of trees and orchards in between ).
The next target is to go with a directional antenna for the end-sensor nodes and a 7 or 10 dBi high gain antenna to test the range further.
Nice! Where can we find more information about the hardware? I've made some searches on Google but couldn't find anything.
You can search for Yuktix Technologies. The hardware details are at https://www.yuktix.com/learn-more/ and http://idea2poc.yuktix.com/iot/ankidb/hw/greensense.html ( the document is work in progress, once completed, we merge it with the main website ).
