GrepCut is an AI video editor built around a simple idea: you should be able to describe the edit you want, and have an agent help build it directly on the timeline.
Instead of manually scrubbing through footage, hunting for clips, stacking effects, writing captions, and assembling
everything step by step, GrepCut lets you work in natural language. The agent can understand your media, search for moments by meaning, generate custom visual components, create subtitles from transcription, apply effects, adjust formats for short-form video, and help turn raw footage into a finished edit faster.
It is built for creators, YouTubers, short-form editors, marketers, solo founders, and teams who need to produce video regularly but do not want every edit to become a full production workflow. GrepCut is especially useful when you have lots of footage and know what you want, but do not want to spend hours finding and assembling it manually.
I’m Adam, a 22-year-old solo founder from Poland, and I started building GrepCut because video editing still feels too manual for how much content people need to create today. AI can now understand video, speech, scenes, and creative intent well enough to become part of the editor itself. That is the moment GrepCut is built for: not replacing creativity, but removing the slow parts between the idea and the final cut.
One thing I'd be careful with:
The interesting question may not be whether AI can perform the edit.
It may be what moment in the editing process people are actually hiring the agent for.
Those sound similar, but they can lead to very different product decisions early on.
I wouldn't make that call casually from the current signal set.
