Hey Indie Hackers!
We just finished our app that lets you design with lots of common materials like PVC, steel, brass, pumps, etc
The app knows the inter-compatibility of the parts so you don't need to... and when you're done, it'll give you the parts list so you know exactly what you need to buy!
It allows you to design your rain water collection system, pool plumbing, kayak/utility cart, wheel chair, steam punk lamp, greenhouse, coldframe, potato gun, hydroponic/aquaponic system, irrigation/sprinkler system... and whatever else you can think of with things you can buy at Home Depot / Lowes.
We spent about a year building the project. I would've preferred to ship it out earlier but it was a technically pretty challenging project to get to what I would consider something usable. We had to fill out a pretty large library... make sure all the parts really were compatible and also that even with all the 3D stuff, it ran well in the browser (mobile/desktop).
I'm pretty happy with the final result. We've been testing it for the past few weeks and the response within our smaller group of people seems to be good but I'm curious for more people to start playing with it!
If you're not a DIY type of person, it maybe a bit intimidating but we'll be adding more and more "starter" projects and "kits" as we go. Hopefully that will help.
Anyways, give it a try please!
