Design before building? 🤔

Hey everyone!

Was just wondering if you go about designing your app/site on Figma/Sketch before building every time? Or do you do both in parallel?

I always get designs first. Before I used to spend countless hours while coding just because I didn't have an idea of what I wanted. The designs helps to scope things down and you have laser focus on what you want to achieve while coding.

    I used MS Paint lol.

Yes, design. No, not Figma/Sketch. Yes, pencil/paper.

Yes everytime. I’d make Lo-fi and Hi-fi prototype on Sketch before creating the real website.

Design first! If you start your site by developing without some ideas in mind, you might make a lot of mistakes. The design helps you save time fixing things.

Design if you can, even if it's rough and on paper. It'll save you a lot of time.

Paper first -> then straight to code

Always design first, this will simplify your development process and reduce functional gaps.

I always design first with multiple versions. Otherwise I feel as though I'm slowed down if I jump straight to the development phase.
