Design feedback?

I'm launching a new product tomorrow and will (hopefully) be getting a decent amount of traffic to my site. I want to make sure the site looks professional / credible.

I'm not a designer and am not trying to get a brilliant design, just don't want to put new users off with anyt

The landing page seems a bit off and boring and I believe it could be way much better and engaging. Why don't you try using some landing page theme and build upon it?

Thanks, I've heard that feedback before. I'm not a designer and my past efforts to create more "exciting" designs, with themes or otherwise, have not gone well. So I'm trying to err on the side of simplicity, but I don't want it to look boring to the point of amateurish.

I really don't have an eye for this, are there any specific things I could do to make it less boring?

I believe you should hire a designer to help you out with your landing page. I am the co-founder at Draftss.com, we would love to help you out.

If you are on a budget and aren't looking to spend much and improve the landing page, then start with the getting a logo for BayBridgeBio, there are quite a few free logo builders.
There should be a CTA Button after "Our 10-week programs connect young biologists and bioengineers with VCs and successful entrepreneurs to explore venture hypotheses."
Reduce the font size and add more padding in the navbar. Something like this https://i.imgur.com/vqkCPaO.jpg

    Quick feedback:
    – Increase the distance between the navigation items (and reduce the text size a bit), since it's hard to see where one link ends and the next starts
    – Decrease the padding for the logos (there is alot of unnecessary white space)
    – At a call to action button below the "Our 10-week..." text (what is the number one action you want the visitor to do?)
    – On mobile add a 15px margin on the left and right sides

Thanks, very specific and actionable feedback!

Came to write the same thing then saw you already did.

    Hi!

First off, neat idea! Biotech is super interesting and I think anything you can do to support growth in that area by allowing biotech students to connect with investors and mentors is great.

There are quite a few things I'd recommend you change. They are of course just my personal preferences but think you might like it as well.

Just send me message on twitter if you'd like (https://twitter.com/vvdhout). Bit easier for me to share my thoughts and show you some examples.

    Take care!
