Designing as an engineer

As a solo maker how are you handling designing interfaces and thinking about UI/UX decisions? Component library or just intuition?

    I think learning some fundamentals in Figma has really helped. Also I read refactoring UI and that really instilled some design principles that have been super helpful so far.

    After a month or two of using Figma, I've got a simple design system that I've been reusing across multiple mockups.
