Hey IH community! π
As someone who does technical SEO for SaaS founders, I figured I should practice what I preach and optimize my own site first. The results were... interesting.
The results across devices
Desktop: Perfect 100 performance score
Mobile: 91 performance score
Here's what's interesting
The desktop version is flying - perfect scores across the board with 0.4s First Contentful Paint. But mobile tells a different story with 1.7s FCP, even though it still scores well.
What I learned:
Desktop optimization: 0.4s FCP, 0ms blocking time - nearly instant
Mobile reality: 1.7s FCP shows the real-world mobile experience
Cumulative Layout Shift: 0 (no more annoying page jumps)
Total Blocking Time: 0ms (smooth interactions)
The lesson for founders
This reminded me why I spend so much time educating clients about vanity metrics. A perfect PageSpeed score on an empty page is worthless. A 91 score on a conversion-optimized site that actually helps your business? That's gold.
Real talk
Working with SaaS founders, I see this all the time - they obsess over tool scores while their actual users are bouncing because of poor UX or slow-loading critical content.
Anyone else experienced this? Where optimizing for users actually hurt your "scores" but improved real metrics?

What technical metrics do you focus on for your products?
Thanks for sharing quality information. What do you consider to be the key SEO aspects for a good user experience in a Micro SaaS?
Here's a professional reply for IndieHackers:
Great question! For Micro SaaS, I'd focus on these key SEO aspects that directly impact user experience:
Page Speed & Core Web Vitals - Nothing kills conversions like slow loading. Users expect sub-3 second load times, especially for SaaS landing pages and dashboards.
Mobile-First Design - Many users discover and even use Micro SaaS tools on mobile. Ensure your entire funnel works seamlessly across devices.
Clear Information Architecture - Structure your content so users (and search engines) can quickly understand what problem you solve and for whom. Use descriptive headings and logical page hierarchies.
Intent-Focused Content - Create content that matches user search intent at different stages - awareness ("how to automate X"), consideration ("best tools for Y"), and decision ("ProductName vs alternatives").
Fast, Intuitive Navigation - Users should find pricing, features, and signup within 2 clicks. This reduces bounce rates and improves dwell time.
Technical SEO Basics - Clean URLs, proper meta descriptions, schema markup for SaaS products, and XML sitemaps help search engines better understand and rank your pages.
The sweet spot is when SEO improvements also enhance user experience - faster sites rank better AND convert better.
