Destroy a good idea to find a brilliant one

There is no problem with finding a good idea. The problem is to figure out how to quickly discard a lousy idea that seems reasonable to find a brilliant one.

Use this technique to test your idea in just one week:

The method is Cold Outreach.

You may be skeptical, but I promise it works.

You don’t even need a product just yet, but to try and quickly understand who you can sell it to, do this next:

  1. Put together an ideal customer profile and figure out where they hang out. It can be social networks, communities, or chats.

In the end, you should have a list of 30-50 places to post.
Count each Facebook group as a separate source.

  1. Write an introduction post that describes your idea with a CTA asking for feedback. Keep it short and sweet for chats and ask for a quick call.

You’ll be surprised how many people are willing to give feedback if you manage to hit right into their pain.

Pro tip: ask how much they are willing to pay for this and try to
sell for half of that price for early-stage users.

This will be the best proof.

  1. Try to find a co-founder.

This topic is actually a big one, but for idea validation, you only need to have some feedback.

Here you need to have a different message and can use LinkedIn, StartupSchool, and IndieHackers for the search.

You need to talk to no specific number of people, but I would stick to 30-40 of the target audience.

Ask for hard and honest feedback, and if you can sell it at this stage — it’s 100% the way to go.

P.S.
We, with my co-founder, just launched in public MicroGoals a few days ago and aim to build a user-centric company. This is why it’s super important we continuously gather feedback. I would love to get 10min of your time to show you our product and get your honest opinion in the comments, or my DMs are always open.
