Dev log #40

Hello everyone!

As planned, since last week I've been working on redesigning the site's interface (technical and aesthetic).

I've started with the technical side by reworking the communication process between the web interface and the server, to make the connection even faster and more stable. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Bunny for activating the websocket protocol on the DNS record that will be used in production, which will allow us to benefit from their CDN acceleration on websocket connections as of update 1.0.0, and therefore make the website even faster, especially for those who don't live in Northern France.

I've also started working on the website registration and connection workflow, with the idea of offering a smoother connection process for those using 2FA. I also plan to add alternative login methods such as passkeys. Initial tests have been extremely satisfactory with Proton Pass, and I'll of course be putting other credential managers to the test before going live. And while we're on the subject of registration and Proton, I hope they'll end up offering their captcha to third-party services, as was mooted a little over a year ago. Integrating their captcha with Veklar would make a lot of sense, given our shared commitment to privacy and security.

That's all for today, and I wish you all an excellent week!
