Developer-Focused SaaS Product? Here are The 3 Types of Content to Invest In

If your business builds developer tools, then content marketing should be a no-brainer.

But the focus shouldn't be on volume as much as making the most of whatever you put out.

Activities like Keyword Research are a given but you also want to understand the kind of content that works best.

Here are 3 types of content to focus on and why

  1. Problem-solving content: Think about some of the most teething problems that developers face and create content on them.
This could be a solution to a technical problem or one that streamlines choices for better decision-making. More people are likely to discover your product if you plug it into such content.

  2. Explanatory content: To stay relevant, developers understand the need to stay up-to-date with new technologies, methods, and whatnot. A good way to position your product for discovery is to write articles that teach something new and useful.

  3. Ideas-generating content
Think of some ideas for new tools or products and write articles on them. Ideas-generating content has the potential to give developers ideas on new things to build with your product. Here's an example of one such content that I created: https://medium.com/@CrayDeji/spying-on-the-competition-how-to-build-a-competitor-analysis-tool-with-openai-and-airplane-dev-915feb9378ea . It's an article on building a social listening tool with GPT3.
