Developer looking to start something up

Hi Indie Hackers,

This isn't the first time I've made a post like this, but after a few failed attempts to join other people in their ideas, I'm finding that it has focused a little more what I'm looking for and what I want to do.

A little about me, I'm a husband and father living in Brooklyn, NY. I'm currently an engineering manager, leading a team of mostly front end engineers built an enterprise SaaS software. I have a little more than 15-years of professional experience working up and down the stack and really enjoy building products that not only solve problems, but that people love to use.

I'm looking to find one or two people that I can join up with that are looking to build a SaaS, likely in the B2B space, that starts with a real problem that people are experiencing and seeks to solve it, for money. That last part is important, because I'm a big believe that incentives need to be aligned for us to do our best work. My ultimate goal is to build tools that help people to do their work better and that should definitely be worth something.

While I'm also interested in this ultimately being something transformational for my life, I'm personally okay taking a bit of the slow path. I would love to see what it looks like to bootstrap for a while, until we find something that takes off and we have the confidence to take it forward full time. No artificial timelines.

My skills:

• Developing software with languages like PHP and JavaScript (front end, and back end)
• Experience with frameworks/libraries, like Laravel, React, GraphQL, Express (very interested in Blitz.js)
• Managing and setting up databases like MySQL, Postgres, Mongo, and Redis
• Running a light level of infrastructure
• Enough front end skills to get by but definitely not a designer (without a designer, I'd likely just tweak something like Tailwind UI to get started)

Areas of interest:

• Developer tools
• Infrastructure tools
• Remote working tools
• Productivity tools

There are other areas too, but these are the ones where I have a few ideas of my own to contribute. I'd love to meet some people, find out if we have complimentary skills and interests and just see what we come up with. I'm even a big fan of just building a few small things to get traction working together, even if they don't work out right away.

Who am I looking for?

Really, just about anyone. Ideally I'd love to find people who don't have my exact skill set, but really I just want to find people who I think I can collaborate well with. My goal here is to build an equal partnership with people.

If I were to say what my gaps are that I'd love to fill, they'd be: design, marketing, product management, and infrastructure. While I'm okay at most of these, I'd love to work with people who are better than me who I can rely on and who can even teach me to be better at them.
