Developers in Remote Team?
by
Akshit Kr Nagpal
Hey Indiehackers
A few questions for you.
Do you work in a remote team?
What tools do you use to work, communicate, or manage projects?
What problems are you facing working in a remote team?
We were remote from day one, so our team was pretty used to it. Everyone is mature enough to work independently.
Hey,
I've been working remotely with my business partner for years now.
We both live in Europe, but in different countries.
The one most important thing to know is : your tools don't matter. I mean it. You will need to find a good and efficient way to communicate with your team, and this is a human effort, not something that any tool can do for you.
We are in contact daily. We tried Skype, Signal, Slack, Hangout, even IRC, and we settled on Discord.
For the past 3 month, we experimented with pair coding, and our favorite tool is Tuple. Not cheap, but it's the best piece of software we tried.
For project management, we kept things super simple and we use trello boards.
We use gitlab repositories to collaborate on code.
Hope it helped!
