Developing on Google vs Microsoft?
Anyone have preference which platform they develop on?
For example, Gsuite/gmail requires that 3rd party devs submit their source code to security audit company if accessing sensitive API scopes (like reading full body of email, not just header) and it costs like $50k+. This makes me want to go over to outlook..
Any thoughts?
I prefer google for small to midsize companies. I think azure is to expensive and too bloated
I have not seen any limitation on the GMAIL API by Google. (We started using the workspace API recently so i cannot assure you either).
But in a broader sense, i don't prefer any. They are providers and as providers, they are the same as tools to me. If i need GCP products, i will use GCP, if Microsoft is offering something interesting inside Azure that i need, i will use Azure. So it depends on your needs. But at the moment we are heavily using google Workspace APIs and Cloud infrastructure for our insurance tech platform
For starters, google might sound better. But in the long run Azure or AWS is faster
