DHH collects keyboards, and maybe you should, too. While the Rails creator and Basecamp founder has never been shy about showing off his flashy cars and his even flashier home office, this is the first time he's shown us what he types on. Apparently, it's a rotating selection of three keyboards that feel so good to type on they make him "giddy."
And if you're wondering whether it's an expensive hobby, "This one is fairly affordable!" he says. "$100-200 a pop. That could be much worse."
Those clickity clack keyboards are fun to type on, but I live in asmall apartment and it'd drive my girlfriend insane. Plus I have RSI, so a split keyboard is really helpful. I've used my Kinesis Freestyle2 for years: https://i.imgur.com/8rXbOf5.jpeg
I have a boring bluetooth keyboard from Apple for my Mac but interestingly I also have a bluetooth keyboard for my foldable Samsung smartphone:

Expected to never use it after buying it but I use it surprisingly often: typing long-form journal entries at home, bringing it to the coffee shop down the street and using it there, etc. I figure a small percentage actually benefit from smartphone multitasking features, and I'm one of them.
