Google shared the news back in May that it will be adding 3 new factors that will influence the page experience score and, consequently, the search results ranking.
This week, they followed this up with a new announcement: these 3 new factors, called the Core Web Vitals, are coming in 2021 May. This date seems far enough now but it is going to be here in a blink of an eye (just think of how fast time is flying now with the holiday season approaching).⏱️⏱️ You need to start preparing for this change. These new factors can either be a liability📉 or a great opportunity🏆 for your website, depending on how well you can prepare for it.
But what are these all-mighty Core Web Vitals? 🤔
Their goal is to give a picture about the overall user experience of the website. The user-centricity will be measured with them. In short, those sites that provide a more valuable experience for their users will be celebrated while other will be penalised.
The 3 Core Web Vitals:
🔵 Largest Contentful Paint
🔴 First Input Delay
🟡 Cumulative Layout Shift
