Did you reach your week goals? Share your wins and fails

Title pretty much says it all.

  1. Share what goals you've set up for this week.
  2. Which ones did you achieve and how?
  3. Which ones did you fail on and why?

    Sure did!

2 weeks ago I started a $500 challenge for my Twitter followers to demonstrate that you can make an annual median salary within a year trading options.

My goal for the week was to get the account value to $1,500, and ended up surpassing it to $2,100.

A nice 330% gain from 2 weeks ago.

I did have a losing day on Monday, but the rest of the week was fruitful.

Next week will have to aim for $3,000.

I did! My goal was to share something publicly about what I'm building and start collecting emails for a private alpha.

It was tough getting started on Monday, but I did pick up steam Tue-Thurs and this morning shared two things on Twitter, LinkedIn, and IH: webmoo.co and https://rebasecapital.webmoo.site, both made with my no-code website builder.

Congrats! What's your goal for next week? Gotta be bigger than the one for this week :)

Also just a tip: things like "share something publicly about what I'm building " sound more like a task than a goal. I'd suggest thinking bigger and the goal should have a deliverable that's tangible enough to move you/your product to the next step.

Yes, definitely. Well, if I were to rephrase the goal for this week it was "to launch a private beta with a dogfooded version of my landing page builder."

Goal for next week: Get 10 private beta signups and build out some core admin functionality.

It's Friday, we still have 2.5 days to go. Let's go!

Keep on pushing. Don't forget to have a life too. Burned out enough times to have learned that the hard way.

What's the goal tho? Do you have a direction?

I just posted my MVP on Reddit to see how many download I can receive in a day and then decide to keep going or not.

    Actually I got 5.

Share the post :) I'll check it out.

      1. was this your goal for the week?
      2. you sure that's a good enough indicator to decide if it has potential?

I discovered Indie Hackers and the buildinpublic community which bascially made my goals for the week obsolete 😅

I actually wanted to focus on finding contract work before I pursue the product I'm currently building any further. But now I found new motivation to continue building the MVP.

So basically: Didn't find (and focus on finding) contract work, but implemented a few new features and fixes for my product - and overall I'm happy with the results.

Hope everyone else is making good progress as well!

      1. What are you building?
      2. Not having goals set up puts you under the risk of going sideways sometimes. It's a good idea to plan ahead (6-12 months) and do weekly goals. That's what works for me.

I'm building a better UI for ChatGPT that makes it easier to give conversations relevant context and background info so you get more personalized responses without long explanations. Let me know if you want to beta test when it's ready :)

And yes, weekly goals, that's my goal for next week 😄

Sounds like a cool project, but I am not sure to what extent it solves a problem. Have you found someone who is struggling with chat-gpt's current flow?

This week I had 2 goals:

    1. Find 10 builders to form a community with.
    2. Write out the community rules and see get 10 commitments to join.

    Wins:

    1. Talked to 15+ builders. Many of which were out of my network.
    2. 8 expressed interest.
    3. Only 5 agreed to the commitments.
    4. Completed, shared and tweaked based on feedback.

    Fails:

    1. Only 5 agreed to join. Reason is that not everyone saw the value in dedicating to the commitments. Need to figure out the spectrum of value add better.

      What community? :)

I'm working on making a small closed community of venture builders. Feel free to DM me on twitter if you want to learn more ;)
