difference between COMPUTER SCIENCE, COMPUTER ENGINEERING & IT

Personally I have a computer science degree, and I am a computer scientist.

Some people have asked me about the difference between people who study these.

Lets know the difference between these people by using a mobile phone call to illustrate.

When you want to call someone on your phone, see and click on the number. What you SEE on the phone, is the work of an IT person.

When you click on the number, you wait for the person you are calling to picks the call wherever he is. How did the phone call pass through the air into the phone of the person you are calling? That action was invisible.

Any event that is INVISIBLE in a computer or phone is the work of a computer scientist. How your call will pass through the air and enter the phone of the person you are calling, is the work of a computer scientist.

A computer Scientist thinks about how he can convert your voice into something called signals, how he can make these signals travel fast to their destination, how these signals will enter the right phone and change into your voice again, etc.

Finally, the mobile phone in your hand, which is physical, was made by computer engineers. Computer engineers are responsible for making the physical phone or computer.

So in simple terms, what you can SEE ON the phone is the work of IT professionals.
What you cannot see but is at work(INVISIBLE) is the doing of computer scientists. Finally, what you can HOLD and TOUCH is the work of computer engineers.

However, human beings have the same brain so you can be an IT person and a computer scientist at the same time, you can learn to be all of them, if you have enough time to learn what they know.
