I run a screencast for developers, and I have a private telegram group for paid customers. Now that we are reaching 50 ppl on the telegram group some members suggested that we move it to discord.
I was actually considering discourse, because I will be able to leverage user-generated content for SEO, and it allows for more elaborate conversations (i.e potentially bring more value to customers and me). I would only allow paid customers to post messages on it, but the posts would be public. And I would keep the telegram for simple conversations on mobile, and attracting attention for a conversation on the discourse forum.
I have seen some people recommending to use both discord and discourse at the same time, but I am afraid it will be too much, and people won't know where to focus.
Thoughts?
It's better to with one of the above. Discord is for more casual and small conversion but have a lot community management features like roles, channels etc. And it is also free.
yes its what I was thinking. I actually dont really see the value of discord vs telegram for small chat communities...
