Diving into Audiences to find business opportunities

Hey Indie Hackers, I want to share how I find pain points & problems worth solving from online communities on Reddit.

I built a search engine for Reddit called GummySearch, and this weekend launched a feature called "Audiences" that lets you discover communities full of a particular customer type, and quickly find conversations where folks talk about their problems.

I had another Indie Hacker recommend that I record a video of me using the tool to discover a problem worth solving, and so I made this recording.

It's a 5-min video but we cover a LOT of customer development in those 5 minutes. I discover a potential mobile app to build that could serve an audience size of up to 6 million people.

Discovering problems on community platforms such as Reddit is just a start, I definitely recommend doing some validation interviews as the next step. However, it's pretty amazing to see how you can find inspirations for businesses to start just from conversations that people have in their dedicated online communities.

For those looking for ideas, or looking to validate their solutions, take a look at the video and feel free to test drive GummySearch for free for your own customer discovery purposes.

Hey, I just signed up for Beta and this is very well put together. The design is excellent and the UX is pretty neat as well.
