DJI Osmo Pocket 3

DJI Osmo Pocket 3: A pocket gimbal camera that punches above its size

The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 combines a stabilized 1-inch sensor with 10-bit profiles and a rotatable 2-inch touchscreen, making it a strong option for creators who want cinematic motion without carrying a full rig. Three-axis mechanical stabilization keeps footage steady while 4K/120 slow motion, D-Log M and HLG capture, and fast charging round out a surprisingly capable pocket tool. For detailed specifications and local availability, see the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 product page.

Sensor, color, and slow-motion

Pocket 3 steps up to a 1-inch CMOS sensor for better low-light detail and dynamic range. It records up to 4K/120 fps for fluid slow motion. Color workflows include 10-bit D-Log M and 10-bit HLG; a 2025 firmware added Log/HLG options to 120 fps modes, giving slow-motion projects the same grading latitude as standard frame rates.

Stabilization and focusing

A three-axis mechanical gimbal minimizes micro-jitter while walking or panning. ActiveTrack 6.0 can lock onto subjects, and Full-Pixel Fast Focusing speeds up acquisition so the camera keeps up with movement.

Controls, screen, and audio

The 2.0-inch rotatable touchscreen (314×556, ~700 nits) flips quickly between horizontal and vertical shooting. Onboard audio uses three microphones, and the camera supports UVC/webcam and livestreaming workflows when tethered—handy for quick broadcasts or meetings.

Lens and look

A built-in lens equivalent to 20 mm at f/2.0 provides a wide, natural field for vlogging, interiors, and establishing shots. Digital zoom is available (up to 2× in 4K), but you’ll get the cleanest results by moving the camera or switching to higher-resolution capture and cropping in post.

Battery and charging

The internal 1300 mAh pack is rated up to 166 minutes at 1080/24 (screen and Wi-Fi off), and around 116 minutes at 4K/60. Fast charging can take the unit to 80% in ~16 minutes (with a PD charger), which is useful for on-the-go top-ups between takes.

Workflow notes for creators

  • Grip the handle low and keep steps smooth; use the gimbal’s follow/speed settings to match your movement style.

  • For grading, start in D-Log M and convert to Rec.709 with DJI’s official LUTs before creative looks.

  • Enable timecode when multi-camming—Pocket 3 can jam-sync via USB-C with a compatible generator—so audio and angles align in post.
