If not, would you like to? I am considering building a journaling app and am curious it's something indiehackers may be interested in.
I have a Wordpress instance locally on my laptop which I've used for years. It's been fascinating to look back on.
I do keep a journal, but it's a paper one. Specifically, I use 5-minute journal.
What kind of features / benefits are you considering in your journal app?
My concept is to create a web-based journal that will prompt for an entry daily via email or text message.
A reply to that email or text would submit an entry.
As an add-on, I would like to offer users to print a hard copy of their journal at the end of the year.
I use http://dayoneapp.com/ with occasional daily journal entries which I start in earnest again about every 3 months before gradually falling off. I also use it for tracking my progress photos(don't want those hot shots getting out), and fitness test results.
The email integration would be pretty great. The biggest problem for me is just forgetting to do it even though I have a reminder.
I journal regularly, but I prefer pen and paper. Even if I didn't, I still probably wouldn't share my journal with a service.
I get this, that has been a large concern of mine regarding this idea.
I use Boss-as-a-Service (bossasaservice.life) where I submit my tasks each day via email. Not really journaling but it really helps me track my progress and I have reminders if I do not complete my tasks and also have a summary at the end of the week of everything I have completed!
