Do contributors get money from open source?

Let's say we would like to build a new open-source product, and we also accept contributions from other outside the team. One day, we get a sponsorship or an easy one, we get money from Github Sponsor or Patreon.

My question is, should we share the money to our contributors (pull request, issue submission) too? How do we define it (who will receive and how much should they be paid) ?
