Hello all,
My name is Ben, I work in the Emergency Room as a Nurse Practitioner. It goes without saying that the last year has been tough and has really caused an increase in burnout amongst healthcare workers in general, as I'm sure we are all experiencing! One of the things I've noticed working in healthcare is that misinformation or outright lies really do impact peoples every day decisions. I have had patients make poor healthcare related decisions based on information they obtained from Facebook or other places. Despite trying to convince them otherwise by showing them scientific data or studies these people do not change their minds.
This led me to start my newsletter The Political Muse. Don't let the name be off putting to you, our mission is to provide a long form thorough investigation of topics related to health, science, and policy as they relate to our political climate today. We want to provide the best and most clear information we can to let our readers decide how they feel about each topic. We cite our sources and include opposing points of view to trey and give a well rounded view of each topic. We think that news outlets today are having to cater to "click bate" tittles and topics while long form reporting and information has taken hold of podcasts and news letters! Give us a read and we would love your feedback! you can email me directly at ben.velardi@thepoliticalmuse.com or on twitter @PoliticalMuse_
