Curious to see whether any other indie makers spend the time creating design artefacts like (lean canvases, customer journey maps, service blueprints etc.).
Or do y'all just get straight into it? and write this stuff off, because you don't need to collaborate around ideas as BigCo's do.
Hey Tom, after being part on this forum for several months now (and consider myself an indie hacker as well) I think I can give you a pretty exact answer on this:
👉 It depends, but in most cases: No.
Maybe you will find somebody here and there who does something like a mini-market-analysis, has thought of a GTM-strategy, or is evaluating product-market-/product-solution-fits. But that’s more the exception than the rule. I guess you‘ll find not a single full-blown graphical user-journey-map here 😅
And to be honest that‘s nothing I dislike about this place, I even quite enjoy the practical & agile vibe. But I bet some products floating around here would strongly benefit from some more theoretical business-approaches.
Thanks for the thoughts Dennis. I like the practical and agile vibe too. I guess that's the underlying thinking, do indie makers consider those kinds of tools practical.
