Do sidebar tweet/fb buttons generate enough actions?
Every IH sidebar has a little tweet and a post-to-facebook button, right under the upvote. Do you track clicks on those? I'd be curious to know if they generate a lot (enough to be there?) clicks, vs. the much more visible upvote button.
I think they'd be a lot more likely to work here on IH (a community) as people often do share on twitter (not sure about FB).
Anecdotally I've worked on multiple sites that have them, and they are almost never used. People generally just share the URL directly in my experience.
I've seen tweets go out with the auto filled content from the sidebar, I don't have stats on how many, just an observation I've made.

So I searched twitter for "via @IndieHackers," which brings 4-10 shares a day. Not huge, but not-nothing.
Interesting because I am trying to decide whether to spend time on these features for Smash Notes or not, and this combined with @atymic comment makes me think I shouldn't, at least not yet.
They do look hot though :D
