Hey IndieHackers 👋
I’m validating a small SaaS idea and wanted honest feedback from founders here.
I’ve noticed that many small businesses get leads via missed calls, WhatsApp, or website forms — but a lot of these leads never get followed up on time and eventually get lost.
I’m exploring an AI assistant that instantly responds to missed calls / new enquiries on WhatsApp, qualifies the lead, and books a callback automatically.
Before I go deeper, I’d love to learn from real experiences:
• Is missed-call / delayed follow-up a real problem for your business or clients?
• How do you currently handle it?
• What would make a solution like this actually useful (not annoying)?
Not selling anything — just looking for honest feedback and validation.
Thanks in advance 🙏
yeah its real, but only for certain businesses.
if the customer has high intent and is shopping right now, missed calls hurt. home services, med spas, auto, legal, anything appointment based. if they call 3 places and one answers or texts back first, that one usually wins.
where founders get this wrong imo is they make the ai assistant too “chatty”. business owners dont need a cute bot. they need fast intake.
first you reply instantly when the call is missed. then you ask only the few questions needed to qualify, name, location, job type, urgency. after that you either book the callback/appointment if the rules are clear, or hand off weird cases to the owner.
the annoying version is pretending to be a human, overtalking, or trying to close the whole sale.
id validate by picking one niche and measuring how many missed calls become real booked callbacks. not “would you use this?” but “how many leads did this save this week?”
thats the only number that matters
