Do we need another browser based document scanning SDK solution

The market appears to be limited on browser based scanning solutions. Basically using Javascript calls to activate your twain compliant scanner from a web page to scan in a document. I have used one product from Dynamsoft called WebTWAIN which is a great product and found two other products that I would consider , however, IMHO they are overpriced for the simple use case scenarios.

I have started a proof of concept application and will not have all the bells and whistles as the other solutions but I think it will fit a diverse market covering a variety of use case scenarios.

Please note: Using a twain scanner from a web page is not currently possible without a companion application. One day I do expect the browsers to offer interfaces for connected devices but they have considerable security implications. For now, the requirement is to have a companion application that runs on the host and essentially provides the interface between the twain scanner and your web application via Javascript calls. I have my POC working nicely BTW.

I have a long career in healthcare development so I will explain a simple use case for that industry: Doctors office uses a browser based patient management system "EMR/EHR" and needs to scan the patient insurance card or license etc. The developers of the EMR application use this SDK to allow the user to easily scan in these documents using for example an inexpensive Ambir TravelScan Pro scanner. With a simple Javascript call the scanner activates and transfers the image to the web page for upload to the EMR.

So, is this SDK something that could be beneficial to the market and do I offer it as a purchase + maintenance or under a subscription plan. Both have their merits and my goal is to fund ongoing development efforts while providing a solution for a diverse audience. All while providing a reasonably priced solution for simple use case scenarios.
