As title says.
With Bitcoin on the rise recently, I got more and more into crypto.
I'm interested to see if there are IndieHackers who accept crypto as payment?
I've had two people ask if they could pay with BTC and I said sure and then manually set up their account. I have thought about adding it as an official payment option.. Curious to hear if it's worked well for others.
Not everytime, but I accept cryptocurrency as payment in my shop. I think this is the future of our banking system. I remember when a lot of people were saying that there is no future in credit and debit cards. They were saying no one will keep all of their money on plastic cards and pay with them. And now look almost everyone uses hi own debit cards and can't imagine how hard their life could be without it. I try to invest as much as I can in cryptocurrencies. I usually search for some crypt signals and then I choose the one that I think is the most profitable and invest.

have people seen BTCPayserver, open source with wordpress integration and lightning. I havent set one up, but its the same one sci-hub uses, so.
There is also Coinbase commerce not sure if anyone uses that
I'd like to try this with some projects. Does anyone know of an easy way to enable crypto payments on a payments page?
So I guess Coinbase commerce is my answer to my own question - seems simple enough. Now - the question is @gabe @AthosBlade what services it products are people paying for with crypto? I can only find lists of merchants accepting it, but that's not really my question...
For those two people I just said "send money to this BTC wallet address and then I'll setup an account for you when it's confirmed". I was thinking about running another experiment where I add a "pay with crypto" link that simply pops open the support chat with a similar message. Kind of hacky, but I don't feel like integrating with Coinbase commerce before validating some more interest.
^ that makes sense. I would imagine my desire to get paid with crypto is much stronger than most consumers/clients desire to pay with crypto 😅
I think it depends a bit on the payment options you already offer. Lot of people don't have credit cards. Offering a PayPal option and country specific payment methods might solve the problem better. Or maybe crypto accommodates some of those customers and it's worth it to you.
Given the current circumstances, as a customer, paying in BTC is probably a big mistake. As a matter of fact, you’re losing money buying products using bitcoins since the value has been going up and is expected to go up for longer. If you have altcoins, it’s better to make your purchase with them. #HOLD
Agreed.
Bitcoin becam jusy digital gold.
I was thinking more of coins expected to be used as currecny like bitcoin cash, litecoin or even dai or tether.
