I find podcasts easier to consume than texts. It allows more room to think about what's been shared.
What do you think? When do you listen to podcasts?
I don’t know about easier. Podcasts are an investment. You have to make the time. And it’s not so easy to go back over a point to get the understanding or make a note.
But, I think podcasts are a perfect way to learn when you do have the distraction free time. I’d rather hear people speak and walk through something than read it. It’s more interesting and I retain the info better than reading.
Would you follow a specific podcast cos their content is always of quality standards?
I write a newsletter sharing podcast episodes so I listen to many different ones. One of my goals with the newsletter has been to provide variety to help people discover new podcasts. (Shameless plug if you’re interested: https://podboxer.com)
But, from a personal point of view I do find myself drawn to a handful of what I perceive as high quality (eg Indie Hackers)
Awesome plug. I'll check it out.
Great initiative for surfacing good content. Google is not doing it for me these days.
Hm I think I prefer texts since listening to a podcast seems I have to create space/time for it. I love podcasts though, leave feeling inspired at times unlike texts..so tradeoffs??
Inspirations...love it! Care to share what are some eps you find inspiring lately or perhaps in the past?
I love that lightning strike moment.
I have no time to process my own thinking. I listen at 1.5x or 2x speed.
so you'll find normal conversations very slow then. :P
When do you normally listen to podcasts?
I listen at my desk.
When i go for walks.
I love audio compared to reading.
What do you think is the key difference between audio and reading?
For me i walk and read, i feel like im being productive.
I also just enjoy audio, reading is a chore.
