To begin, we analyzed the backlink profiles of our competitors and other companies known for their successful efforts in this area. This can be done using various SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Se ranking, or Seodity (for which I am a co-founder).
Our goal was to acquire backlinks that would generate viral-like results. While we identified a few potential strategies, the one that ultimately proved successful for us was creating Seodity-related freebies and releasing them on Behance and Dribbble.
By doing so, high authority websites quickly shared our freebies. It's worth noting that the link to download the freebies should be directly on your site or blog so that when shared, the same link is used.
