I made a SUPER simple calculator because I was constantly calculating by hand the calories in a given set of macros.

I was doing research into macros and I would often see sets of macros posted without the total caloric energy amount. Like this:
300 carbs
75 fats
230 protein
I can't do that calculation in my head so I made a simple calculator. Which tells me that the above has 2795 calories of energy in it.
If you look at macros a lot, do you find the calculator helpful or is it too basic?
I count macros- I am self educated, using sites like IIFYM.com to understand my macro breakdown and I track with MyFitnessPal which has restaurant menus with macros/calorie info.
For me, the calories are unimportant vs the macronutrient. I focus more on those.
I’d be happy to discuss more if you wanted to conduct user research!
Hey Ryan, would love to discuss more. I emailed you at your email on your profile. Thanks!
I don't have much motivation for cooking or tracking macros. At the same time I like to eat a variety of food and am trying to increase muscle mass and reduce body fat (like many others).
For this reason I bought a mealprepping for bodybuilding book which has a load of recipes for the week with pre-calculated macros. All I have to do it buy the ingredients and follow the instructions. Every week is different, usually tasty food, and stuff I would never have even thought to make myself.
Just thought I would share my perspective as your site currently only does the bit that I purposefully avoid. Maybe it will give some ideas, I doubt I am the only person like this.
Great thought, thanks. Did you get this book? https://amzn.to/39eGA29
Do you measure out the ingredients as you are cooking?
Yes, it is exactly that book.
I do measure the ingredients but it is a bit tricky as I am used to the metric system and have to convert them There are also a lot of ingredients that I have to substitute as they are difficult to get in the UK (especially as supermarkets are being stripped bare at the moment).
Thanks. So you value just being able to follow a recipe and the macros are laid out for you. You don't mind measuring, you just don't want to have to calculate and match macros yourself correct?

Definitely. I left the email on from a different calculator I made. http://thisappwillgiveyouabs.com/summerbod2020
I have 3 calculators now. Going to keep adding more.
